BLOG TOUR: Falling by EK Blair

Sometimes it takes someone else to show us what we are truly capable of becoming.

Suffering from years of violent abuse, Ryan Campbell has learned how to keep people from getting too close. But when you shut yourself off, people get hurt along the way. Never caring much about others, Ryan creates a world in which he doesn’t have to feel.

When Ryan meets Candace Parker, all of his walls slowly begin to crumble. Not sure of the truth of who she is, he feels his mind is playing tricks on him. Unable to force out the thoughts that consume him, Ryan is haunted by visions that torment him every time he looks at her. He finds himself swallowed by guilt and blame, but he’s unwilling to turn his back on the one person that could possibly save him.

You’ve heard Candace’s story in Fading, now hear Ryan’s.

5 Healing Stars

“I’m not a provider the way a man should be; I’m a taker. I stay disconnected –and take.”

When I finished reading Fading I remembered the desperation I felt for wanting more. To savor the good part in their lives. Well, I’m so happy to say I got that and a lot more in Falling.
First of all I would like to congratulate E.K. Blair for an amazing series. A debut author who took my breath away with every book and grew with each one giving us characters that are real, that I learned to love, that I ached with them, grew with them, celebrated their triumphs and successes and cried with them too.
In Falling we see the story from Ryan’s POV. It is beautifully written giving the reader a true understanding of who Ryan is. We get to know his past, his torments, his evolution, the way this man is so imperfectly perfect. We get to see first hand how love heals. I love Ryan’s mom. And one of my favorite moments in the book is actually a scene where a very important secret is revealed for the first time and how this action helped Candace so much.
In Falling you will not see a repetition of what happened in Fading just being told in Ryan’s POV.  On the contrary, you feel as if you are in the scenes for the very first time. And there are also new scenes of course! You learn so much more about the events and it is the perfect contrast. And for that I am very proud of E.K. Blair. I actually learned a lot about Candace in this book. I was able to see her more physically, to see the damaged and to see how much she evolved and grew with Ryan’s help and the love of her friends and Ryan’s family.
“I get it. That’s been me my whole life, but now, with her, I find myself wanting to feel instead of running away from it.”
The love and magic Ryan feels for Candace is something out of this world. His anguish and desperation. It just brought tears to my eyes and crunched my soul. This man is pure bliss. I just needed them to be together.
He is falling for her and he wants her to fall with him. He refers to himself as drifting before his life with Candance. This book is the perfect example that love heals. That you can find a family in people that do not have blood ties to you. That all you need is love.
“She’s filling me with an awareness I never saw before. She’s made me take a step back to see my life for what it is –disconnected and stagnant.”
I was sad to see this series end. I love this series. I will miss them very much but I could not be more pleased with the beautiful epilogue E.K. Blair gave us.  Absolutely magnificent.
This is the type of book that everyone must read. In my eyes it is simply PERFECTION.

USA Today bestselling author and International Amazon bestselling author, E.K. Blair takes her readers on an emotional roller coaster with her FADING series. A former first grade teacher with an imagination that runs wild. Daydreaming and zoning out is how she was often found in high school. Blair tends to drift towards everything dark and moody. Give her a character and she will take pleasure in breaking them down, digging into their core to find what lies underneath.

Aside from writing, E.K. Blair finds pleasure in music, drinking her Starbucks in peace, and spending time with her friends. She’s a thinker, an artist, a wife, a mom, and everything in between.
